Privacy Policy
The short version: Tallied does not collect any data about you. There is no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. What you enter stays on your device and in your own iCloud account. We (the developer) never see it.
This policy explains how the Tallied app for iPhone and iPad ("Tallied", "the app") handles information. Tallied is made by Yoan-Marko Iliev ("we", "us").
1. Information we collect
None. Tallied has no server of its own and does not send your information to us or to any third party. The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting software from third parties.
2. Information stored by the app
To work, the app stores what you enter: collection names, categories, item names, quantities, prices, barcodes, and photos of products you choose to take or pick. It also stores image "fingerprints" (feature prints) that let it recognize products you've added before. This information is stored:
- On your device, in the app's private storage; and
- In your iCloud account, if you are signed in to iCloud, so it syncs across your own devices. This uses Apple's CloudKit service. It is stored in your private iCloud database, which we cannot access. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
3. Camera and photos
Tallied asks for camera access so you can photograph products and scan shelf labels. You can also pick a photo from your library instead. Images are analysed on your device (using Apple's Vision and VisionKit frameworks) to recognize products, read barcodes and read prices. Photos are never uploaded to us. A product photo you choose to save is stored with the item, as described in section 2.
4. Apple Intelligence
On supported devices, Tallied may use Apple's on-device language model to suggest a name for a new product. This runs entirely on your device, and nothing is sent to us.
5. Collaborating with others
If you invite people to collaborate on a collection, that collection (its items, categories, quantities, prices and photos) is shared with the people you invite through iCloud sharing. They can see it and add to it. Apple shows participants each other's names or iCloud contact details as part of sharing. You can stop sharing, or leave a collection someone shared with you, at any time. Only invited people can join.
6. Reports you export
When you export a PDF or Excel report, the file is created on your device and goes only where you send it (for example Mail, Messages or Files). We don't receive a copy.
7. Children
Tallied is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country).
8. Your choices and deleting your data
- Delete items or collections in the app at any time.
- Turn off camera access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
- Remove the app's iCloud data in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage (or Manage Storage), then choose Tallied and delete its data.
- Deleting the app removes its data from your device.
Because we hold no data about you, we have nothing to access, correct, export or delete on our side. Your rights under laws such as the GDPR and CCPA are respected by design.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how Tallied handles information, we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect. If we ever start collecting data, we will say so here and in the app's App Store privacy details first.
